SUPREME COURT.

The ordinary quarterly session of tho Supreme Court (says the Pram) postponed from tlic firnt Monday in October, owing to lii-s Honor's absence on circuit in Dii tied in—opened on Tuesday, before his Honor Mr Justice Johnston. A very briof reference was made by his Honor to the cases in the calander. Tlie following oases were disposed of flu ring the day, viz : —James Nolan and Henry assult with intent to rob, each three years' penal servitude; John Glecson, horse stealing (two charges), two yeare' hard labor on each charge, to run concurrently ; Albert Adams, breaking into and entering a dwelling-house at the Cust, twelve calendar months' hard labor ; James Lambert, alias James Ashby. for breaking and entering into a shop and dwellinghouse at Sydenham, four years' penal servitude ; F. Cooper forgery and uttering four years' penal servitude ; John Sharkey, breaking into and stealing, twelve calender months ; James White, Frank Carey, Jane Brown, alias Jinet Miller, and Margaret button, for robbery with violence. In this case White and Sutton were discharged, and the jury retired to consider their verdict as regarded the two other prisonere. At 10.20 they returned a verdict of guilty of robbery without vio'ence. Sentence was deferred.

On Wednesday the following cases were disposed of :—John Fry, indecent assault, twelve months' hard labor; Frederick Lane, larceny, two years' imprisonment with hard labor; W. J. Wilson indecent assalt, three years' penal servitude; Frank Covey, robbery with eight years' penal servitude; James White, robbery with violence, six years' penal servitude ; Jane Brown, robbery with violence, eighteen months' imprisonment with hard labor; William Douglas, three years'penal servitude; William Burden, two years hard labor ; Joseph Sparkes, malicious injury to property, three months imprisonment. The jury in tho case of Regina v Colyer could not agree, and were locked up for the night.
