Under the eifcum- . stances I beg to say that I cannot con's ceive how any other body can fill the , place of the Road Board, as the gentlei men I have been connected with on that f body for a number of years have always c been found to be most straightforward .1 and honest in all their transactions, and c in disposing of the public moneys placed ii under thei trust. I b. g most respectfully to say that if returned I shall always endeavor to do my duty in a trustworthy manner, as I have hitherto done, and I consider it is quite tune the Ratepayers had a meeting, at which all Ratepayers should at. nd, to decide whether they will give up the County Council or the Road Board, for it is impossible to keep up c two rating bodies.
