WRECK OF THE BRISBANE. Port Darwin, October 13. The mails and passengers of the steamer Brisbane have been landed here, but the vessel is still on the reef. MELBOURNE WOOL SALES. Melbourne, October 18. Goldsbrough's wool sales opened here yesterday. There was a good attendance of home and foreign buyers, and there was good competition, THE RAINFALL IN VICTORIA. Copious rain is now falling throughout Victoria. GREAT EMBEZZLEMENT. The embezzlement of £8000 by two clerks in tbe employ of Messrs Kronheimer & Co. has been discovered. The books of the firm have been falsified by the defaulters, who have absconded. Sailed yesterday afternoon tbe Union Company's steamship Rotomihana for Bluff.
