FLOWER STEALING.
Chiustchurch, October 13,
For the last few weeks complaints have been numerous of plant and flower stealing from various gardens. A man named Meadows who stole nine rose bushes and afterwards planted them in his own garden was to-day sentenced to seven days hard labor at the Magistrate's Court. CHRISTCHURCH COLLEGE SPORTS Tho annual sports at the Christchurch College were held to-day and passed off very successfully. • There were a good number of visitors present. DEATH OF MRS C. W. TURNER. The Hags on the various buildings in Lyttelton,and on the shipping, were hoisted half-mast to-day, in consequence of the death of the late Mrs C. W. Turner.
