AKAROA HARBOR BOARD.

A meeting of this Board was held on Wednesday night Present—Messrs Garwood (chairman) : Gutberlet, A lams, Black, Cullen, Bruce, and McGregor. COHRESPONDKNCB. Th* outward correspondence was read. REPORT OF WHAR-f COMMITTEE. The following report of the Wharf Committee was read :— "Ist. Your Committee beg to report that the new jetty lamp has now been permanantly fixed, and the committee believe it will be found serviceable to vessels and others making the wharf. Accounts in couneciion with fixing the same are submitted herewith. "2nd. Your Committee in,terms of your instructions advertised for tenders for the necessary timber and iron for the required repairs to the wharf, and recommend the acceptance of Mr Ddglish's tender for tinnier at 14s per 100 ft delivered at the wh-u-f, and the acceptance of Mr O'Reilly's tender for the ironwork at 4>l per lb.

'• 3rd. Your Committee recommend that a supply of red aud green glass be kept in stock for the jetty lamp in case of the present glass being accidently broken. ■' 4lh. Your Committee have put the life saving gear in connection with the vharf in efficient repair, aud steps will ba taken to see that they are used omy for the purpose intended. " sth. Your Committee recommend that the*following accounts in connection with the wharf be passed for payment :— Brunston and Foster. £14; R. Noonan, £4 7s ; R. Noonan, painting buoys, 12s 6d; J. 11. Thomas, fixing lamp, 6s ; J. H. Thomas, wharf repairs, 12s; J. H. Thomas, buoy and line, £1 ls ; Henning, wharfage, £1 ; R. Goodwin, repairing drag, 14s; W. Stuart, life buoy, £1 ss. Total, £23 17s Gd." Reported by A. I. McGregor secretary. Resolved, on the motion of Air Gutberlet. seconded by Air Cullen—"That the second clause of the report he adopted." Carried. The accounts as read were passed, and the report as a whole was approved. UAnANCK SHEET. The balance sheet, duly audited, was laid on the table. It was as follows :— " Statement of Receipts and Expenditure in the Wharf (special account) of the Borough of Akaroa during the six months ending September 30th, 1881.—ReceiptsGovernment subsidy, £424 7 a lOd ; wharfage dues, £106 2s lOd ; tota 1 , £530 10s Bd. Expenditure — Advertising, 10s 6d ; day labor. £3 ; freight, etc., 258.1; stationery,£3 17sGd ; maintenance jetty lamp, £25 ; at Bank New Zealand, fixed deposit, £400 ; do, current account, £98; total, £530 10s 8.1."
