LONDON WOOL SALES.
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company have received the following telegram from London, dated October 7ti, :_Wnol—The aales closed at the level of tlie last sales on the 7th inst. Ti.e total quantity sold during the past sales is 33C 000 bales. 45 COO bales have been held over for future disposal, and 170.000 have been taken up for export. Superior combing washed lifts advanced Id to l£d per 11). For superior greasy the markot is firmer, and for medium and inferior greasy it is easier. Fine greasy nnd fine washed crussbreils have advanced |d to Id per lb. For coarse greasy crossbred tli? market is unchanged. Tallow—There is less speculative demand.
