AUCTIONEERS' REPORTS.
Messrs 11. Matson and Co. report on the Live :-tock Market, &c, for the week ending Thursday, September 14th, as follows :—Yeaterrlay's sa'e at Addington, brought forward a fair nverago entry of sheep, fat and store cuttle being , penned in larger numbers than usual. In cross-bred mutton the quality, as a rule was good, as were also aoine of the merinos, but the bulk of the latter were scarcely up to the mark. From the commencement to the end of the sale there was a good enquiry for all classes of shcop, and nearly every line changed hands at prices very similar to the lust few weeks' quotations. Yesterday brought to nand the first fat lambs of the season, contributed by Mr John Overtoil. They were of really spiondid quality, and found ready buyers at from 13s to 14s per bead Tlie beet nmrket was wull attended by buyers, prices were about the same as the average of the past month, prime steers bringing , MO to £10 10s ; light,weights mid heifers, £G lOg to £8. In store cattle ■there wae tn axueptionally entry large, but competition wasnot quite as good, and a lot wis tnrneii out unsold. The totals yardfd for the day comprised 5293 s'loep. 525 head of catt o, ami 00 pii>s.
Horses.—For our last Satur lay's sale at TnttersaU's there \v s a f.iir entry, between 70 and 80 horses, besides traps, drays, &c., being cat r'or aiclion. The attendance was an average one, an 1 about half the number of horses offered found buyers »t prices as per description. As special entries wo disposal of tlie three eitiro horses. Young. Tr.idtieer, Cunplen, an 1 Sydney at prices to be withheld. Hides, sound, at 4d per lb and 4£d per lb for a Hue of heavy hides ; hides, damaged, weighing, 55 lbs and over, (it 2| per lb; do "do, under 55lbs, at 2d per lb ; calfskins, sound, at 4d per lb; do cut and damaged, at 2d per lb.
