Bekork Justin Aylmer, Esq., R.M, and G. 11. Saxton, Esq., J.P. JUSCIIABCiNCt FIKEARJIS. Thomas and John Grange were charged with discharging firearms within the boundaries of the borough. Thomas Grange said that he thought he was outside the boundary. Wilfrid Johnson was charged with the same offence. Defendant said he had discharged a gun into the creek for safety. The Bench dismissed all three cases, cautioning defendants to be more careful for the future. CIVIL cases. Okain's District Road Board v. Thomas Mcintosh. Claim £2 8s for rates for 1879 and 1880. Defendant produced a receipt for the 1870 rate, and stated that he had received no notice for 1880, and that lie had nothing to do with the land in question for that year. Judgment for plaintiffs for £1 2s Gd, being the rate for 1880, and costs. Same v. T. Pawson. Claim £3 S.s 9d for rates. Air Nalder appeared for defendant, and pleaded insolvency. Defendant deposed that he was a bankrupt, and had obtained his order of discharge, though he was unable to produce it. In ans.vcr to Mr Wright, defendant admitted that he had voted.at a Road Board election on the strength of his being on the roll. Judgment for defendant with costs. liis Worship remarked •_■[■ the highly

irregular manner in which the business of the Okain's Road Board appeared to be carried on. Sydney Harris v. G-. Franks. No appearanceof either party. Case struck out. The Court then adjourned.
