STOCK REPORT.

There was a good attendance of buyers nt the Ailtlii gton yards on Wednesday. The stock yarded comprised 8844 sheep, 552 hem! of cattle nnd 142 pigs.

>. heep.—A very large supply of fat sheep (.•nine- forward, including Rome extra prime cross-breds. and for this description there was ii fair competition. Owing - , however to the excessive supply, late prices were barely maintained, t>ut several lines of store merinos and cross-bred Jambs met with a ready sale. There v/as a good enquiry for hjiiihl mouthed cross-bred ewes. Extm prime (heavy weights) cross-hied wethers 21s; good and prime ditto made from 16s to 19s; medium ditto from 12s 9d to 14s Gil. Prime merinos brought 13s ; hunhs 12s Gd. We quote from 2h\ to 2fd per lit, as the average for mutton. Sound-mouthed merino ewes sold at from 5s Gd to 0s 9(1 ; broken mouthed ditto, from 4s to 4s G.I. Cattle.—The fat cattle brought forward consisted of second and medium s-orts, for wtiich descriptons the liiddiugs were very dull. A good supply of yong store cattle was submitted, but tiiere waa little or no improvement in the prices for stock of this description. Fat bullocks realised £8 ; (ditto light weights) brought fiom £5 10s to £G 10s. We quote 20.s per 1001 has an average for beef. Severn I lots of store cross-breds sold at fioin litis to4os ; three-year-old steers tip to £5.
