Mr Innos also presented to tho Board a memorial .signed by a number of ratepayers, requesting , that the Board would not allow the conditions on which permission had been granted to Mr Firmston to erect a refreshment slant at the jelly to be violated. The (J'.erk was instructed to write to Mr Firmston that if lie violated 1 lie coniiiton upon which tho permission had boon granted he would have to remove the stand ; the Cleric was to him to the Board's letter for the conditions. CORIIICSrONDRNW;. Letters were read— From Messrs J. Goodwin, A. White, and D. and G. McKay—a joint communication —calling the attention of the Board to the bad state of the road near them. Messrs Petligrew and Budua were requested to see what was required. From Mr W. Smith, poundkecper, requesting that a short piece of fence be erected at the pound gate for the greater convenience of putting in cattle. It was agreed that it was necessary to have this done. From the surfaceman with monthly report. From Mr Innes for a copy of Mr Firmston's letter of application for permission to erect a refreshment stand, and of the Board's reply thereto. This had been granted. The Board parsed accounts to the amount of £11 17s. The Clerk was directed to write to Messrs Austin and Kirk for thirty 9in drain pipes 3ft long. Here followed convessation on various matters con.ing under the jurisdiction of the Board or affecting its interests, in the course of winch it was found tli-it the rerepairs and alterations desired for Paton's road could not all be effected, owing to the state of the Board's funds. It was decided to make snub repairs and alterations as the Board could afford. Mr Budua called attention to the dangerous state of the bridge on the road by which he and his neighbors got to their places. His account was corroborated by Mr Pa ton. Mr Budua agreed to request Mr Lyall son., to tender for the supply of beams required, and to report to next meeting of the Hoard. Attention was also directed to tho main road bridge at Ann-mda'e gate as requiring some small rep .irs. Mr Pitcaithly got permission to take a tofar-i tree off the road ne.ir his house on condition that, if required, he would grant timber or rtones fur cv verts for the mad in liis vicinity. Mr Pilenitldy reminded the Board that they had never gone through the final Conn fer closing the oid Kay's gully road. After the i.bovc and sumo other minor points had been attended to, the Board adjourned.
