Messis 11. Matson and Co. report:—On 'Thursday »t our Canterbury Wool Stoics, we held our usiifil weekly sale of the -above.' We catalogued 2,849 sheepskins, l.'X) bag's and packages of butchers' rough fat and-tallow, and GO hides. There was an avern.tro attendance, and all lots wero cleared, though at a slight decline in value, both in skins" and hides. Butchers' best cross-breds brought 3s 9.1 to 4s lOd. Second olajss, 2s G.I to ;3s G.I. Dry and very late sli'orn pelts, Is to Is Gil. Full woolled skins. i>.s Gd to Os lOd. Butchers, merinos, 2s to 2s 8.1 ; inferior, Is 3d to Is 9d. Scnnd ox hides and calfskins brought 4d per lb all round ; dnmagei I ,'2£d. Hough fat, dry and well saved, 2d to 2-|d per lb. No inferior on offer
