"VTOTICE is hereby given, that the IN Alcaroa Borough Council, at a meeting to be held on Tuesday, May 10, 1881, intend making a General 3ate of one shilling in the pound on all rateable property in the Borough for the year commencing April Ist. 1881, and ending March 31st, 1882, The Kate to be payable in one sum at the Council's Office, on the Ist of July, 1881. AKAROA BOROUGH COUNCIL. rpHE time for preparing the Burgess JL Roll for the Borough of Akaroa having boon extended till the 30th of April, I hereby give notice that the said Roll for 1881-82, together with the Defaulters' List, is now ready for inspection at the Council's Office, and will remain open until May 10th. All objections thereto must be in writing., in the form of the 6th schedule of " The Municipal Corporations Act, 1876," and delivered at the Council Office on or before May 16th, 1881. W. At the Government House, at Wellthis twenty-sixth day of April, 1881. Present: His Excellency the Governor in Council. WHEREAS it has been made to appear that certain things required to be done by " The Municipal Corporations Act, 1876," in connection with the making and revision ot the burgess lists or rolls of the Borough of Akaroa, cannot bo done by or within the time required by the said Act: Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, -in exercise of the power and authority vested in him by the twelfth section of the said Act, and by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Colony, doth hereby extend the time for the doing of the said things in connection with the burgess lists or rolls of the said Borough of Akaroa, and doth declare that the times for the doing of such several things shall be those which are specified in tha Schedule hereto annexed. SCHEDULE. 1. For making out the burgess list: On or before the 30th April, 1881. 2. Public notification of the burgess list and the defaulters' list being ready for inspection : On the 2nd May, 1881. 3. Burgess and defaulters' list open for inspection, and delivery of objections thereto : Until the 12th May, 1831. 4. Inspection of list of objections : From the 13th May to the 18th May, 1881. 5. Sitting of Council to determine claims and objections : Between the 19th May and the'23rd May, 188.1 G. Burgess roll to come into force : On the Ist June, 1881.
