A fair nmount of buisness Ims transpired lately in the grain market. Though prices continue much on the same basis, a firm feeling can bo noted as prevailing. Wheat.—Transactions have been fairly numerous at 3s Gd for Hunter's white, and 3s 7d to 3s 9d for other descriptions. Fenestra gfiod lots, a shade more can be obtained in some cases. Oats have shown no variation, and best heavy milling are still quoted at Is 9d to Is dhd. Feed lots are selling at Is Gd to Is Bd, and all brought forward find ready buyers. Barley.—The market hr-s in no way altered,"and samples of fair malting continue very unsaleable at 2s 2d to 2s (3d. Of really prime there is little offering, and rates stand at 3s to 3s Gd. Flour is in moderate demand at £9 to £10. according to brand. Rye Grass.—The late enquiry has slackened off, and not much has lately been done Buyers are disinclined to lay in stocks a rates now asked, arid only purchase m' execution of positive orders. Values stand at 4s to 4s Gd for good seed. Cocksfoot has been quitted in small parcels at a shade under 2£d in Lyttelton. Potatoes.—An increased buisness has passed, and values are stated at 32s Gd to 35s at railway stations. Dairy Produce.—Butler and cheese aa> unaltered.
