THE BOER REVOLT.
TERMS OF PEACE CONCLUDED. London, March 22. In the House of Commons to-day, the Premier was questioned as to the state of negotiations for peace m the Transvaal. In reply, he announced that information had reached the Government that the Boers have accepted the conditions of peace, which were submitted them by Sir Evelyn Wood. Under these the Boers will recognise the suzerainty of the Queen in the Transvaal, but will enjoy complete autonomy, a British Resident, however, being located in their capital. Mr Gladstone further informed the House that a Royal Commission of Enquiry would arrange Native frontier questions, and would also consider whether thp Transvaal should lose territory to the eastward. He- concluded by stating that the Boers would disperse there forces forthwith, but the British garrisons would remain in their present positions until a complete settlement had been effected, and in the meantime the troops will remain stationary.
