GRAIN AND PRODUCE.
The week just closed liiim only shown ft moderate amount of business transpiring in the market. Grain is now coming forward in large quantities by rail, and the Boveral.ve.BelH loading have no reason to be dissatisfied with the despatch afforded. The discharge of inward vessels is being pushed forward vigorously, so as to be able to relieve the pressure that id now felt. • A . ; Wheat is quoted at 3s 5d to 3s 6d for good milling lots, and for tbe favourite sorts an additional 2d to 3d per bushel is obtainable. A few lots of chick Bamples have been sold at ls 6d to 2s 6d, according to quality. Ootfl.—The market does not present any new feature. The enquiry remains about the same.for all descriptions. Best muling nre quoted at ls 6d to ls 7d, and feed at 1h 3d to ls sd.
Barley does not show any more vigorous enquiry. Best stands at 3s to 3s 6d, and lesser grades at 2s 3d to 2s 6d. It is thought most likely that, later on, considerable shipments of tbis grain will be made to the United Kingdom owing to tbe contracts and : poor outlet at present existing in the Australian Colonies. Flour stands at last week's rates of £9 to £10. Grass Seed maintains the same value aB previously. For best samples of rye grass 3s to 3s 6d is obtainable, but neither the orders in hand nor the quality offering call for special remark. Cocksfoot is brought forward in large lots. Sales of seed are reported at 24d to 2-_d, according to quality The quality of most of the seed this year is good, but a little more attention in dressing in some of the samples shown would be desirable.
Dairy Produce is unaltered
