PIGEON BAY ROAD BOARD.

The monthly meeting of this Board was held in their office on Saturday, March sth. (The meeting for February lapsed for lack of a quorum.) Present — Messrs Hay (Chairman), Pottigrew, Pitcaithly and Budua. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. Th* Chnirmfln,in his Btatoinent,infonnrd the Board that he had accepted the tender of Mr P. Kuster for tha grass seed on Haines , Summit Eoad. Ho also told them that he had waited upon the Hon. J. Hall } in the disputed road through Holmes' Bay, and with what succors. In view of this matter, it was moved by Mr Pettigrew, seconded by Mr Budua, and carried—That Mr Pitcaithly, Mr Budua,and the mover be deputed to wait upon Mito ascertain whether ho would accept a diversion of the road through Holmes' Bay from the present ending towards the woolshed, and thence down the flat, instead of through the Maori paddock. CORRESPONDENCE. Letters wero read— From Mr J. Robinson, asking permis sion to build a small goods shed at the jetty. The request was granted, on the tinderstanding that whenever the Board desired its removal Mr liobinson should promptly remove it without expense to the Board. The Clerk was to refer him to the Chairman for particulars as to site and othor things. From Mr J. Hunt, relative to road lead ing to his place. It was decided that the Chairman, Messrs Budua and Pettigrew should ccc it and report to the Road Board at its next meeting. From the manager of the Press, intimating that that paper had been appointed the Gazette for Canterbury for Govern- , ment bind sa'es, etc. From Mr Ollivier, District Auditor, announcing to the Board that he would pay the bay an early visit. From Mr A. I. McGregor, re the Valuation List for 1881. - FINAN'CH.
