Hack Race, of 4sovs. For district horses; entrance, 10s; distance, 1 mile, — Rules — Three entries or no race. Entries to mean and include (in cases of handicaps) nomination and acceptance. Horses walking over for a prize will receive only half the prize Second horse to save his stake in all races except tho Hack Race. District to mean from Kaitiina to Pigeon Bay and Akaroa side. All horses that run in district and country races shall have been the bomt fide property of residents of the district and county for at least three months prioi - to race (late. No horse allowed to run unless he is I bonft fide property of a subscriber of one | guinea to the race fund No protest will be entertained unless accompanied by a fee of one guinea, which will be forfeited, if considered frivolous. All protests to be made in writing within a quarter of an hour after the race. Nominations for handicap races to be addressed to the Secretary, Little River. on or before Marcii 1, with entrance money enclosed, mine, age, and performance of horse, name of owner, and colors of rider.
