GERMAN BAY.

The annu d meeting of householders of the German Bay district took place in the schoolroom on Monday evening.

The report of the outgoing Committee showed that, although three large families had left the district (hiring the year, the average attendance had increased from 48 to 51, a result highly creditable to the teacher, Mr Rotilston. During the year a new side-school bad been built, which is a credit to the district. Tbe householders who have worked hard to secure it must be gratified with the result of their exertions. The report being unanimously adopted.tbe following householders were elected a Committee for the year : —Messrs Jolly. Chappell, Curry, Breitinoyer, Odell, Valdos and J. Hammond. A vote of thanks was accorded to the retiring Committee.

The new ConitniUce then met. am! unanimously re-elected Mr Wm. JOII3 Chairman. Tenders were then opened foi cleaning the school, E. Hammond's tendei (ElO 10s) being accepted.

A letter was read from the Board of Education, stating that Ernest Watkins, pupil-teacher, had requested the Board to remove him to Akaroa school, and asking the Committee if tb°y agreed to his removal. The Committee thought Master Watkins might have consulted cither them or the schoolmaster before applying to the Board. The Chairman wag instructed to inform the Roard that the Committee do not fierce to his removal.
