In all events three horses to start oi only half the stakes will be paid to the winner. Two horses must start or nc race will take place. Nominations and entries for all events will close on the Ist February 1881, at the Wheatsheaf Hotel, Head of the Bay, Lyttelton, and must he addressed to the Secretary, with a full account of all previous performances, pedigree, color, and age, together with the necessary amounts in cash. Weights to bo declared on 15th February, and acceptances on Bth March. The district comprises Port Victoria Road district, Lyttelton, Purau, Port Levy, Kaituna, and Gobble's Valley. All horses that run in district and county races, shall have been the _ b«>na fide property of residents of the district and county for at least three months prior to race date. The C. J. C. rul'.-s adhered to. No person allowed to enter a horse unless a subscriber of at least one guinea to the race fund.
