FINANCE. His Worship reported iho receipts since la.?t meeting to be as follows —General rate £ 1 7h 10d, dog tax £1G ; total £17 7s 10d. The balance at the bank to the credit of the Council amounted to £88 4s 4d. The following accounts were passed for payment .-—Wiggins and C , )., advertising, etc., £4 19s ; P. MrGuire, repairs to footpaths, 4s ; IJ. Burke, burying carcases, Gs ; Gγ. Lardner, carting, Gs ; Diteiy, cleaning Council offices, β-s ; 'otal, £G, MISCKIJ.AN'HOUP. A statement was read of the fines collected at the R.M. Court during December. The fines amounted to £G 10s. Re the Dog Registration Act, His Worship said that ho had forgotten to mention at last meeting the appointment of offices for the above. Cr McGregor proposed that the Council's offices be appointed as the office of the Registrar of Dogs ; that the same be advertised ; and thai the appointment of registrar be made under the seal of the Council. The motion was secoiided by Cr Brown, and carried. Re the dog collars, Cr Cullcn proposed the matter in reference to the badges for the dog collars be left in the handy of the Registrar. Cr McGregor seconded the motion, which was carried. TOWN CLERK'S BOND. His Worship road to the Council the Town Clerk's bond. A dispute arose as to tbo legality of the document. Ultimately, however, Cr Cullen proposed that the bond already drawn up be accepted by the Council. The mation was seconded by Cr Bruce, and carried. The Council then adjourned.
