PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, AKAROA.

(Communicated.)

An adjourned meeting of the Financial Committee of the above Church was held in tho church last Tuesday evening. Present—Messrs Dalglish (Chairman), Bruce, Roulstpn, and Rev. Mr Douglas.

The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed.

The Sunday-school box was opened, and l found to contain 6s 9 |d, being the children's contributions towards periodicals for

A conversation ensued as to the impossibility of getting a satisfactory statement of liabilities from the Sunday-school

Union

Mr Douglas said he had repeatedly called and written about the accounts, but could get no satisfaction.

Mr Roulston thought it would be best to stop the periodicals until a proper day-and-date account was rendered. He was asked to see Mr Barber when first in town, and make further enquiries.

In addition to The Mail account, which Mr Douglas had paid since last meeting,, there were presented—share of interest on manse property £6 7s 2d. and 10s for oil. The Treasurer was ordered to pay these accounts as far as possible, some subscript tions yet remaining to come in;

Mr Roulston expressed a wish to havp another male teacher in the Sunday-school. The meeting then closed.
