STOCK REPORT.
The supply of stock at the Addington Yards on Wednesday, was much larger than usual, owing to tho ' announcement that there would be no market during the race weel£. Tho bidding was brisk throughout tho sale, and no trouble was experienced in quitting desirable lota. Tho stock yarded comprised 7419 sheep, 547 cattle, and 10 pigs. Sheep.—Fat sheep were in brisk demand to the end of the sale. Prime cross-breds
in the wool realised from 15s to 17s ; shorn do, from 10s 3d to 13s Gd. Merinos * in the wool sold at 14s 6d to 15s ; shorn,
at Gb'. We quote mutton in the wool at M per lb ; shorn, 2d per lh.. Lambs sold at from 8s to 12s each, Two-tooth store cross-breds realised at from Gs Gd to Gβ
] Id. A line of shorn Leicester ewes, with a large percentage of lambs, brought 14s ljd. * yery few store merinds were yarded, and as those were Buffering from foot-rot, they were turned o'tt unsold.
OattJe.-rFat cattle were rather in excess of the demand. We quote from 21s to 23s per 1001b for prime beef. Store cattle sold well. Two-year-olds realised from £4 15s to £5 2s 6d ; three-year-olds £6 ; young stock from nine months to, 15 months old, from£2 to £2 \%>i.
