AKAROA RESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT.

Before Justin Aylmeii, Esq., RM
FAILING TO PROVIDE,
Richard Williams appeared to a summons charging him with neglecting to provide for the maintenance of hie son in the Bnrnham Industrial School.
Defendant asked whether he could no have his son buck.
His Worship said he ceuld not recommend it, owing to defendant's own conduct. He would make an order for the payment of 5s a week. In default of payment one months' imprisonment.
DRUNKENNESS AND OBSCENE LANGUAGE.
Thomas Shackell was charged with making use of disgusting language in the presence of a Justice of the Peace.
It appeared that the offence complained of had occurred during the inquest on the child Green held at the Head of the Bay.
Defendant acknowledged the ness, and pleaded ignorance of the rest, — Fined 10s and costs.
The Court then adjourned
