WOOL SHEEPSKINS HIDES AND TALLOW REPORT.
Messrs 11. Matson and Co report:—On 'I hursday, nt our Canterbury Wool Stores, we behl our usual weekly Side of the above. There was a poor attendance of felbnongerrf, but considering nil things prices may be considered as bighby satis factory, with tho exception of a few lots which suffered in consequence of the late-rio-iK of the sale. Our catalogue consisted of 2290 sheepskins, 151 bags rough fat. 81 hides, several hales and bags wol, and several bags and packages of tallow, the whole of which were cleared at the following quotations, viz.:—ButehertT best crossbred skins made Gs to Ih 9d each ; second quality, 4* 9d to 5.s lld ear-h ; nieditm , , 3.s Gd to 4s 8d each. Butchers' bef=t merino made 5n to 5s Gd eftch ; second quality, 3s 9d to 4s lid each; medium, 2s (id to 3s 8d each ; best rough fat, 2.J-d to 2j|d per Ib ; inferior, none under 2£d per lb ; hides, ; damaged hides, ; and calfskins, 4|d per lb ; u-ashed wool (cold water), 10.1 per It) ; greasy wool, to 8 : hl per Ib ; pieces, 3d t> per lb; locks. 2.1 to did ier lb ; lallon'.'id, 2-jd, 2\d, to 2£d.
