WOOL, SHEEPSKINS, HIDES AND TALLOW REPORT.
Messrs H. Matson and Co report:—On Thursday, at our Canterbury Wool Stores, we held our usual weekly sale of the above. There was an average attendance of the trade, nnd although prices were scarcely as high as they have been, still values were more uniform than they usually are «t this season of the year. Our catalogue coneisted of 3367 sheepskins, iol hags rough fat, 98 hides, a few bags wool, and several packages and rasks of tallow, the whole of which were cleared at quotations as under, viz.:— Butchers' best cross-bred skins made 5s 3d to Gs 4d each ; second quality, 4s to 5r 2d each; medium, 3s to 3s lid earh. Butcherh 1 best merinos made 4s to 4r 9d each ; second quality, 3« 3d to 3s lld each ; medium, 2s 3d to 3s 2d each. Butchers' best rough fat, 2{d to 2fd per lh ; second quality, 2d to 2£d per ib; inferior and heated, lfd to l£il per lb. Hides, 3£d per Ib ; damaged hides, 2£d per lb. Calfskins, 4il. Tallow, in packages, 2d, 2£d to 2Jd per lb ;do in casks, 19s, 21s, 22s 6d. and 23s per cwt. Wool, in bags, to 7d perlb.
