WOOL, SHEEPSKINS, HIDES AND TALLOW REPORT.

Messrs 11. Matfion and Co report:—On 'I hursday, at our Canterbury Wool Stores, -we held our usual weekly sale of the above. There was an average attendance of the trade, biddings being brisk and values oven throughout. Taking the sale all through we consider that we obtained higher prices and better values than we have none in any previous sale this season. Our catalogue consisted of 2908 sheepskins, 121 hides and calfskins, 156 bagH rough fat, 8 bales and several bags of wool, and several casks, and bags and packages tallow, the whole of which were disposed of at the undermentioned quotations —viz., butchers' best cross-bred skins, 5* Gd to Gs 3d ench ; pecond quality, 4s Gd to 5s 5d ; medium, iU to 4s 4d each ; butchers' best merinos. 4s 91 to 5s 7d each ; second quality, os Gd to 4s 8d ; medium. 2s to 3s 4d each ; best country skins 4s Gd to Gs 3d ; others from 1h to 4s; butchers' best roiitfli fat made 27-1 Gd to 2£d per lb ; cnlr'akins, 4Jd per lb ; tallow, in casks, to 2G* Gd per cwt; do, in package*. 2d to 2|d per lb ; do, in bags, 2£d to 3|d per lb ; greasy wool to 7|d ; washed do, lO|d, Is, and Is per lb ; pieces to s£d ; locks, fix , ., 3d per lb.
