HEAD OF THE BAY CEMETERY.
To the Editor ot the Akaroa Mail. •
Sin, —Can you tell me what is the position of ' affairs with . relation to, this temetery ?' Along time has nqw elapsed wince trustees were"elected,'and as yet we ** have heard nothing at all from those ''_ gentlemen as to their proceedings. I think the public are entitlod to know what has been done. Why should we be obliged to convey our dead, to Akaroa for interment, when the local cemetery appears to bo ready for use? If further funds are needed, why not «ell some sites for graves at once. See if you cannot help us in thia mfttter, Mr Editor.—l am etc ' * DUVAUCHELLE. "* * [The ratepayers elected the trustees, and we presume the same persons can call upon them to give an account of their stewardship. We should advise " Dnvauchello," and others who think with him, to take steps to-cull ti public meeting, which the trustees could be invited to attend when, the whole question could bo satisfactorily discussed.—Ed. A.M.]
