WOOL, SHEEPSKINS, HIDES AND TALLOW REPORT.
Mes«rs H. Mntson and Co. report:— On Thursday at our Canterbury wool stoTes we held our usual weekly sale of the above. There was an average attendance of fellraongers, but biddings were scarcely so brisk and a decline of' fully 6d per skin may be quoted as the result of tbe day's transactions. Our catalogue consisted of 2987 sheepskins, 127 bags fat, 101 hides, and a few bags wool and packages tallow, the wholo of which were disposed of at prices as under, viz:—ButcherH* best crsss-breds made 5» 3d 10 5h lid ; second quality, 4s to 4s lOd; medium, 3s to 3s lid; butchers' Wst merinos made 4s to 4s 8d ; second quality 3s to 3s lid; medium, 2s to 2s lid each. Country skies made for best, 4s 9d to 5s 8d each, others, sd, 9d, to 3s (id aa per description ; butchers' best rough fat made to 2£d ; inferior made 2|il per lb. Hides, 3|d ; damaged do. 2\,\ per lb ; calfskins, Ud per lb ; tallow, in packages, to per lb : wool to 7d per lb ; peks to 3d ; pieces to 5d per lb.
