AUCTIONEERS' REPORT.
Akaroa, August 2. Messrs W. 11. Wood and Co. report :—• On Saturday laat we held a sale of stock at Mr B. Sbndbolt'a yards, Head of the Bay. Owing to the uncommonly boisterous state of the weather, not a third of the stock entered were yarded. There was a. large number of buyers present from all parts of tbe district, who were eager to secure young stores. All the lines submitted were keenly competed for. We quitted a line of cows coming into profit at from L 4 10s to L 5 ; 3-year old heifers, L 4 13b 6d ; 2-year old steers, L 3; a pair cf small working bullocks were withdrawn at owners'reserve of L 7 10s«ach. Wewkl a lot of 16 growing pigs privately at LlO. Several ligbt hacks were offered without puccueding in getting a single bid, the Peninsula being evidently overstocked with this clasß of animals.
