Messrs H. Matson and Co. report: —On Thursday at our Canterbury Wool Stores, we held our usual weekly sale of the above There was an average attendance of the trade, and prices may safely be quoted as ruling five per cent higher than last week. Our catalogue consisted of 3880 sheepskins, 142 bags rough fat. 119 hides and calfskins, 4 hales and 22 bags of wool, and a few packages tallow, every line offered eliciting keen competition, and being sold at quotations as under, viz.—Butchers' best crossbred sheepskins, 4s 6d to 5s 2d-; second quality, 3a to 4s 5d ; medium, Is lid to 2s lid. Butchers' beat merinos made 3s to 3s 9d each ; second quality, 2s _o 2s lid ; ine_iu__, Is 4d, to Is lid each. -Country skins, full Wools. 4s 6d to 6s 4deach, and one exceptionally good line brought ,7s 6d each. Butchers' best rough fat made io 2-g-tl per lb ; inferior, none on offer. Hides, 3id per lb ; calfskins, 3}d per lb ; tallow, from 2ls to 25s per cwt; wool, fiom 61 to Bjd per lb ; pieces from 3£d to 5f 1 per lb ; locks, from 2 : } dto 3.{d per lb.
