Nothing will so effectually pulverise the ground as exposure to its influence. With tho exception of peas, broad beans and radishes, it is not advisable to how seeds this month. Plant out cabbage, cauliflower, rhubarb, seakale and hardy herbs, such as sage, thyme, marjornm, »vc. Take advantage of every opportunity when tie ground is at all dry to hoe between rows of cabbage and tvnliflowers. FRUIT GARDEN. Proceed with the pruning of gooseberry and currant bushes, also apple, pear, plum and cherry trees. Dig between the roots of trees and bushes, leaving the surface in a rough open state. In digging amongst trees and bushes, care should be taken not by any means to injure the purfAce roots, as the productiveness of fiuit tress is increased by the preservation and encouragement of small fibrous roots near the Rurface of Hie ground. Any transplanting contemplated should be pushed forward with all possible expedition. Plant cuttings of currant, gooseberry. «Src, FLOWER GARDEN. When tbe weather is suitable get beds and borders dug up. Every variety of flowers and shrubs will succeed better when the ground has been early dug up and well pulverised during the winter months. Plant and trim edgings lo walks and apply gravel when necessary. See that all tender plants are protected from frost. Thick scrub set closely round tender plants will answer the purpose. A little sand placed over their roots will have a beneficial effect.
