OKAIN'S DISTRICT ROAD BOARD.

Saturday, May 29.

A meeting of this Board was held on the above date, at the Library, Okain's Bay. Present — Messrs Moore (Chairman), O'Callaghan, Bennett, Oldridge, and Barnett. minutes. The minutes of the last meeting were read and coufirmed. v CORRESPONDENCE. Letters were read— From the residents in Little Akaioa, requesting the Board to form a road from their district, as at present they were completely blocked in, stating that Mr 1 hacker had, two years previously, offered to give them a road through his land on condition that the Board fenced it, but since that time nothing had been done in the matter. The Chairman agreed to see into the matter, and to that end would confer with Mr Thacker. allocation of funds. Shuttleworth for £24 was accepted. WAIKEBAKIKARI ROAD. Mr J. Wright's tender of Is 9d per chain for the clearing of the road from Waikerakikari to Le Bon's was accepted. PANAMA ROAD. The work on the Panama road not being completed for the sum of £10 as voted at last meeting, it was resolved that the remaining work should be done by day labor. PAYMENTS. The Clerk's salary, J. B. Barker's contract for £40 for Pawson's road, and sundry other small accounts were passed and paid. The meeting then adjourned.
