Jacob. Who framed the Borough By-laws well, Naught but the truth would ever tell, Who as Lord Mayor was such a swell— Jacob Who came down the Governor to meet, But A r passed him in the street, And thought he was not dressed so neat — Jacob. Who took Sir Hercules by the hand, Saying " Welcome to this happy land, I hope you'll always do it grand " — Jacob. Who at William's meeting took the chair, And looked bo like a Russian bear, Who spat on the floor and did'nt care— Jacob. Who kept a Pub and did'nt drink, Was a master hand at pen and ink, Who from his gin would never shrink— Jacob. Who drove the mail to Pigeon Bay, On many a wet and stormy d.ny, Which at that time was no child's play— Jacob. Who was capsized and had many a spill, And came rolling down like Jack and Gill, And never kept a private still— Jacob. Who in the Provincial Council sat, And roads for us he made them get, Who is a better man than Pat— Jacob. Who was Burgomaster of this town, Who turned things ovor and upside down, Who wore on his face a perpetual frown— Jacob. Who should have a statue made of brass, That any stranger who should pass Would naturally say, who is that ?— Jacob. MOAPAUK.
