Christchui'cb, Friday Evening.

A moderate business has been transacted in the import markets during the past week, and it would certainly have been larger but for the cautious policy now adopted by all engaged in trade. Complaints from the country are rife of the difficulty in getting' in money, and it is feared that storekeepers will have a severe struggle to meet their engagements, as there is but small probability of farmers improving'their position *uniil the market for cereals advances.
