CORN EXCHANGE REPORT.
The following is the Corn Exchange report for the week ending Friday evening. April 9— The week that linn passed lias not evolviid any new features which call for special remark. Ltirge quantities of wheat continue to arrive from the country stations, whicli is being shipped for Great Britain on growers' and merchants' account. Kecent Homo advices report the market flat; lateht quotations are 50s per quarter of 49011). Wheat.—Sales have been eftected during the week at from 3s 10d to 4s. according to quality. Prime samples, tit for seed, will command 4sinChri«tcnurch. Good milling, 3s 9d to 3s 10£ d. Oats.—No change lias taken place in the value. Sales are taking place at from Is 4d to Is Gd per bushel. The demand ig fair, but growers are unwilling to The state of the gmarket is almost precisely what it was in the preceding week. Few samples of really prime quality are coming to hand, while the market id glutted with second-rate to feed samples. For prime malting 3s 9d to 4s is obtainable ; for the other 2s Gd to 2s 9d is the value.
(ham Seed.—A few snles have been effected nt from 2s 9d f .o 3s. For good extra classed heavy samples the latter price is obtainable. Potatoes.—Enquiries continue for forward delivery, and a few sales have already taken place. For one Urge parcel the rumour is that 3Gs is the price agreed upon. There is still nothing as to market rate. The present aspect of affaire points to between tfOd and 40s per ton; sacks extra. Cheese and Butter.—The former is in good supply at from s<l to s£d ; demand slack. For the latter B£d to 9d, demand moderate.
