Melbourne, March 20.
It is understood that Victoria has declined the proposal to join New Zealand in a search for the survivors of the Knowsley Hall, supposed to be wrecked on the Crozets.
With reference to yesterday's telegram, regarding the New Zealand Railway Commission and Mr Higginbotham, late Engineer-in-Chief for Victoria Railways, it is now anderstood that the new Ministry have offered, and Mr Higginbotham has accepted, a reappointment to his former office.

A crowded meeting of the members of the School of Arts was held last night, at which it was decided by a small majority to rescind the resolution in favour of opening on Sundays, passed at the meeting of March 1.
Brisbane, March 20.
The law points have been decided against the bushranger Wells, and the sentence of death will be carried out.
