[Special to the Mail] Melbourne, March 18. Mr David Syme, proprietor of the Melbourne Age, has instituted an action against the proprietors of the Melbourne Punch for libel. The damages are laid at £5000. Sydney, March 18. The steamer Chandenasjore lias arrived here after landing party at New Ireland. It is understood that two steamers with a thousand adventurers will follow shortly from Rome and Barcelona. The original prospectors of the expedition state that it is intended to appropriate North-western Australia.
