Information has been received here this morning from San Francisco that a fire has occurred on board the Pacific Mail Company's steamship City of Sydney while lying in dock at San Francisco. The extent of the damage she has sustained is at present unknown.

The Homeward mails via San Francisco were delivered in London on March 13th.

News has been received from San Francisco that the fire which broke out aboard the steamship City of Sydney, while lying in the dock, wae speedily suppressed and the vessel has sustained but little damage.

Bombay, March 15.

A report has been received from Afghanistan to the effect that the enemy has captured the village of Charikar, near the city of Oabul, and a new Afghan campaign is now considered inevitable.
