Fruit Garden. Trained trees will-require attention. See that the ties of grafts are all removed. Thin raspberry canes to, admit light and air to those 'intended for bearing next season. Prepare ground for fresh plantations of strawberries by digging and subsoiiing at least two feet in depth. After a good fall of rain select the best rooted runners from fruitful plants, and set in rows two feet between the rows, and one foot between tbe plants in the row. Eemove the runners 1 from established beds, and keep all free from weeds. Flower Garden. Dahlias and hollyhocks will require strict attention as to staking and watering. Propagate by cuttings the petunia, verbena, geranium, calceolaria, antirrhinum, fuchsia, ageratum, &c. Hoses may still be budded, and cuttings of the China and noisette class will root freely if put into a cool shaded spot at present. Eenew old geraniums in pots by cutting down and shaking the soil completely away from the roots, and re-potting in small sized pots in rather poor soil. Set them under glass until they start growth ; they will make fine plants for winter.
