FltOM TIIK LYTTELTON TIMES. Chrislcliurch, Friday Evening. GRAIN AND PRODUCE. Business during the week has been extremely quiet, and the market in every respect presents almost the same features as when we last wrote. Wheat.—A few trifling sales to millers at the old rates of 4s 9d to stf can only bo recorded. Oats present nothing new. _ The only business passing under notice is for home consumption, at Iβ 9d to Is lid. It is pretty well accepted that the opening rates for the new grain will rule much lower than for some seasons past. Flour has had a fair trade enquiry at £13. Grass Seed.*-Several samples of this season's ryegrass, of only medium quality, have been offered during the week without finding buyers at 2s 3d. Well grown and clean samples of ryegrass dealers are open to purchase at 2s 9d to 3s. Cocksfoot has been sold at 3-J-d to 4d. Dairy Produce.—Butter is still plentiful at to 7d. Cheese 5Ad to 6d. Hams and bacon in cloth, lOd.
