AKAROA RESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT.
Tuesday, Dec. 23. (Before J. Aylmer, Esq., R,M.) CATTLR TRESPASS. For this offence John Castle was fined 5s and costs. FURIOUS RIDING. Robert Hudson, charged with this offence, was fined 20s and costs. CRUELTY TO A HORSE. The same defendant, for illusing a horse by cruelly flogging and over-riding it, was fined a further sum of 20s and costs. UNLAWFUL RESCUE OF CATTLE AND ASSAULT. George Smith was charged on the information of James Sharrock with unlawfully rescuing cattle on their way to the pound, and committing an assault. Both charges were dismissed. Civil Case. Wright v. Thacker. Claim £15 10s. In this case, which had been adjourned from last Court day, judgment was now given for the defendant. The Court then adjourned.
