Owing to fine weather having set in, the majority of the country people are busily hay-making and shearing, and as -far as we are able to judge the different Crops throughout the province are looking better than they have done in any :former year. The stock are coming forward in first-iiiasß condition, in consequence of the abundant supply of grass.

•At the Addington yards on Wednesday, 6855 sheep, 942 head of cattle, and 80 pigs we*e yarded. Sheep.—-> The majority of the sheep penned coesieted of from. good to prime quality (shorn) fat cross-breds. Extra prime lots realised 11s each, others from 8s 9d to 9a 6dt; prime merinos 7s 9d each. We quote l|d per ft as an average for fat sheep. Fat larabs sold from 3e 6d to 7s each. Stores. —.There was an active demand for store sheep

Cattle.—The supply of all classes of cattle was exceptionally large. Extra prime fat bullocks «old as high as £10 17s 6d. We quote 24aper lOOib, as an average for prime quality lots. Stores.—The large supply of store eefc&le was again in excess of requirements, and snany lots, in consequence, were passed in*uisold ; three-year-old steers brought frotu £4 10s to £5 5s ; two-year-old .ditto, from £3 10s to £4 ss.
