LOCAL MARKETS.
Messrs Robert Wilkin anfl Co. report: — At the Addington Yards on Wednesday. 5543 sheep, 609 head of cattle, and 53 pigs were yarded. Again the supply of fat st6ck was in excess of the requirements of the trade, and in consequence of there was a further drop in prices. We sold on behalf of various clients—fat ewes and wethers, shorn, from 7s to 8s 6d each ] cross-bred ewes with lambs at foot, from 10s 9ri to 11s 3d ; fat lambs, 8s 3d to 9s; fat steers, £9 per head ; fat calves, from 16s to 22s 6d.
Sheepskins.—At our sale to-day, 2809 skins were catalogued and sold. There was a large attendance of buyers and biddings were spirited as follows:—Butchers' cross-bred, large full woolled, 4s to 4s 6d; do do, medium, 3a 3d to 4s ; dodo, small and inferior, 2s 9d to 3s 3d ; do merino, large, 3a-10dtO 4s 4d ; do do, medium, 3a to 3s 10d ; do do, small and inferior, 2s 6d to 3s ; country merinos, to 4s ■; do cross-breds. to 4s 2d ; early shorn pelts, 2d ; lambskins, sd. Tallow.—There was only a small Bttentlance of the trade, with light prices. Best clean, well saved, l£d per lb ; second oiality, l£d ; inferior and heated, £d per Ik 3d per lb ; calfskins, 3£d.
