GRAIN AND PRODUCE.
Transactions in the grain market since our last report have not shown any tendency towards an improved feeling. Wheat. —Values do not show any variation from the quotations of last week; First-class milling is quoted at 4s 8d to 4s '9d ; other kinds 4s 6d to 4s 7d. Oats are without alteration, and little ; doing beyond trade sales. Feed qualities a:--' quoted at 2s 3d to 2s 4'd, and milling at 2s 5d to 23 Od. Barley.—There is nothing new or special to note." Prices remain about the same. Potatoes. —Considerable sales at £3 10s to £3 12s 6d have been made, and there are orders in the market at these rates. Flour is quoted at £12 to £13, with a fair local demand. Grass Seed. —The demand for rye grass has fallen off greatly, and sellers have great difficulty in quitting. Farmers' samples of good clean seed are nominally quoted at 4s 3d to 4s 6d, but a concession on these rates would have to be accepted for a large parcel on a forced sale. The ouantity offering just now is far in excess of the demand, and in addition to the curtailed local inquiry, the market -is -influenced by the paucity of orders from outside customers. '
