STOCK AND STATIONS.
At the Addington yards on Wednesday, 6240 sheep, 244 head of cattle, and 11 pigs were yarded for the week's supply. Sheep.—The fat sheep consisting of a large proportion of cross-breds, with more than an average supply of good quality merinos, but again the supply was in excess of the requirements of the trade, consequently there was a dull sale throughout, and many lots were passed in unsold. Prime cross-breds and heavy weights sold as high as 14s ; good do 11s Gd. to 12s 9d ; fair quality and light weights from 8s to 9s 6d each. Best merinos from 8s 6d to 9s 6d each. We quote 2£d perMb as an average for best quality. Cattle.—A good supply of fat cattle were yarded, including some very prime quality lots, for which description the biddings were very keen, choice pens making from £14 to £16. We quote 32s 6d per 1001b as an average for this description, while second quality lots ranged from 27s 6d to 30s per 1001b. Stores. —A fair lot of.young store cattle were yarded, but there is no demand for this description as yet, owing to graziers being short of grass, consequently the bulk was passed in unsold.
