The sittings of the Court for considering the objections in this district were held at Wascoe's Hotel, Little River, on Wednesday, Angust 27. J. Aylmer, Esq., R. M., acting as judge, and Mr James Wilson, the valuer for the district, appearing in support of the valution, and Mr A. I. M'Gregor on behalf of the Department. Section 2145, 314 acres, was transferred from the name of Rev. A. P. Callaghan to that of J. Gebbie. Dr Doyle, acreage reduced 13 acres, and the valuation reduced to £3348. T. King, no appearance, entry on roll sustained. H. de Bourbel, no appearance, valuation sustained. D. S. Melville, claim for exemption, not granted. Bell and Ensor, no appearance, entry on roll sustained. David Gebbie, 541 acres reduced by 15 atires and £83 valuation. Miles and Co., no appearance, valuation sustained. J. Smith, acreage reduced to 75, and valuation to £337 10s, section 11456, 29 acres added, value £121 j 10s. J. Stanbury, objection informal and not allowed. Snow and Anson, freehold struck out of Akaroa and Wainui roll, and 500 acres leasehold charged in Akaroa and Wainui, and 1500 in the Little River district. The court then adjourned till Friday next at Akaroa. On Friday and Saturday last the Court was occupied in making the alterations in the rolls as ordered, and in signing the same.
