Melbourne; August 18. It is believed that the Commercial Bank robbers are two escaped prisoners. Black trackers are in their pursuit. Owing to heavy rains tracking is rendered very difficult. Sydney, August 18. Owing to the action of the miners at the Lambton Colliery in refusing to abide, by the vend system, a large body of other miners seized the Lambton works. A disturbance ensued, shots were fired, and one man was injured slightly. "On the police arriving the crowd dispersed to a monster open air meeting. 35 miners arrived from Adelaide for the Waratah Colliery, where the miners are locked out.

The Lancefield branch of the Commercial Bank of Australasia was stuck-up by two men when first opened in the morninsr. Mr Morrison, the accountant, was gagged, and a local customer was locked up in the manager's room. The manager was in the yard with four men dnring the robbery. The Bank was robbed of £665 sterling. The police do not think the robbers are connected with the Kelly gang. Black trackers are starting in pm-suit.
