THE Travelling Public are informed that the BRIDGES.on the Main Road in the Akaroa and Wainui Road District are at present UNSAFE for Wheeled and Horse Traffic, pending repairs. Travellers are reqnested to take the lower side of the Bridges in German, Robinson's, Duvauchelle's and Barry's Bays until the necessary repairs axe executed. F. W. WILLIAMS, Chairman. July 3,1879. A MEETING of the RATEPAYERS of the above District will be held at the Main Schoolhouse, Pigeon Bay, on SATURDAY, August 28, 1879, at 12 o'clock noon, for the purpose of Electing TWO members to serve on the Road Board, in the room of Messrs James Gillespie and Jameß Hay, resigned. A Poll will be held, if required, on SATURDAY, August 30, 1879, from 12 a.m. to 4 p.m., in the Pigeon Bay Schoolhouse. As the present lease of the Bruce Hotel will shortly expire, and as arrangements are being made to close the present proprietor's connection with the Criterion, it is imperative that an immediate settlement of all accounts be at once made, before they are placed in the hands of a collector, who will have instructions to at once sue for all outstanding amounts.
