(from, the lyttelton times.) London, August 11. The English wheat crop is expected to be 25 per cent below the average. ! Three per cent, consols, ; other securities including Colonial debentures rule lower. Adelaide wheat is quoted at 49s per 496lbs—ex warehouse. Adelaide flour 85s. The estimated quantity of wheat afloat for Great Britain is 1,560,000 quarters. The House of Commons has read the Irish University Bill a third time. In the House of Commons last night the Chancellor of the Exchecquer made a statement defending the policy of the Government with respect to Egypt which aimed at stopping the previous misgovernment. The prorogation of Parliament is fixed to take place on Friday. [Age Special.] London, Aug. 11. The American Government has addressed a memorandum to the European and other powers, asking that urgent measures be taken to prevent Mormon emigration. It is probable that Congress will be invited to forbid Mormonism on American soil, and to prohibit Mormons from landing.
