AKAROA WHALING.
To the Editor of the Aharoa Mail.
Sir, —By inserting the enclosed you will oblige :— Gentlemen of the Wainui Whaling Fishery,— Will you be so kind as to lot me know through the Mail what kind of whale was in Akaroa harbor, as I think it must be a new kind. From what I have seen, I think it must have wool on its back. What makes me think so is became you tied a pair of shears to a long polo ; that is the reason I thought it had wool. If any of tho crew would be so kind as to send me a sample I will send it up to town for them ; I will get as high a price as I can for tlie crew. Yours, &c, J. WRIGHT, Sen. Island Bay, July 26.
